What is Clayphonics?

Clayphonics is an interactive teaching system within a book that helps children learn how to read through fun and engaging stories!

The system uses Image Mnemonics, and associated stories & hand gestures to make learning easy and natural.

On each letter of the alphabet rests a colourful clay character that inspires an accompanying story and action.

How Does it Work?

The purpose of reading is to get meaning from print. However, to understand the ideas in the text the reader must first be able to interpret words & sentences through their knowledge of phonics & sight words.

“Reading is a basic tool in the living of a good life.”

What Professionals Say

” In just a few minutes each day your child can learn to read with Clayphonics. Written by a primary school teacher, who also taught adults English as a second language, Clayphonics is a concise, simple and effective method for teaching reading. Because it is so easy to use, involves multiple senses, and a minimal amount of time and preparation, I feel that it will appeal to both parent and student, and it is a real bargain as well. This is a non-consumable curriculum.”
